Michigan Woodshop with South African and Scottish roots

Protea & Thistle Woodshop began in our minds many years ago when we merged our South African and Scottish heritages in marriage. Protea is a famous flower native to Cape Town, South Africa and the Thistle is a gorgeous yet prickly flower native to Scotland. Harrie made our logo many years ago for our wedding invitations and we resurrected it for our business that we began during the pandemic. It was our dream to use our talents to glorify God and that is what we try to do with every product we sell on Etsy. These wood products are primarily sourced in Michigan (with some sourced from the surrounding Great Lake States) and all are made in Michigan. Our products are inspired by the lovely town of Plymouth, Michigan, and the favored 'up north' destination of Traverse City, Michigan. We take pride in every unique piece we build and hope that it helps you create a warm and inviting mood for your friend and family gatherings for years to come.
